HDMI Spliter

HDMI Spliter

An HDMI splitter duplicates a single HDMI video/audio signal from one source (like a game console, Blu-ray player, or laptop) to multiple displays (TVs, monitors) simultaneously, showing the exact same content on all screens. It's ideal for mirroring content in home theaters, sports bars, or offices, typically coming in 1-in-2-out, 1-in-4-out, or larger configurations.

How it Works

Input: One HDMI cable connects from your source device (e.g., PS5, cable box) to the splitter's single HDMI input port.

Splitting: The splitter takes that single signal and duplicates it.

Output: Multiple HDMI cables run from the splitter's output ports to your separate displays (TVs, projectors).

Power: Most splitters require external power via a USB cable or adapter to function.

Key Characteristics

Duplication: Shows the same image on all screens; it does not extend your desktop.

Resolution: All connected displays will run at the lowest common resolution supported by the splitter and all monitors.

No Delay: Delivers the same signal to all screens at once.

When to Use One

Home Theater: Send a movie from one Blu-ray player to two TVs.

Businesses: Display a presentation on multiple screens in a conference room or signage in a store.

Events: Show a game feed on several TVs at a party.

Splitter vs. Switch (Important Distinction)

Splitter: One input, multiple outputs (duplicates).

Switch: Multiple inputs, one output (lets you choose which source to display).
